01 Overview
Taboola in brief.
Taboola places sponsored content in recommendation units on publisher sites and apps, the feeds of suggested stories you see below and within articles. An ad looks like content: an image, a headline and the advertiser's name, linking to your page. Taboola's performance platform, Realize, extends campaigns to further placements; what's available depends on your account.
People click from an article, so native traffic is curious rather than ready to buy. Campaigns that work usually send that click to a content page, such as a guide, a review or an advertorial clearly labeled as advertising, and then to the offer. Site-level reporting lets you stop spending on publishers that don't convert.
A good fit
- Offers that benefit from a story told on a content page
- Publishers and media companies buying traffic to their own content
- Online stores with review-style or advertorial pages
- Teams that can test many headlines and images
Think twice if
- You can only send traffic straight to a checkout page
- Your category is restricted under Taboola's guidelines
- You can't produce a steady stream of new headlines and thumbnails
